About Us

Our Mission

At Malla Medical, we believe that access to healthcare should not depend on where you live — whether that’s a remote village in Nepal, an inner-city neighborhood in a wealthy nation, or an isolated community in a low-income country. Our mission is to research and develop sustainable, community-centered healthcare models that overcome the barriers of geography, poverty, and healthcare inequality — globally.

Our Story

Malla Medical was founded in 2023. What began as a mission to serve Nepal’s most isolated villages has grown into a broader global research initiative. Malla Medical studies and develops innovative remote-care models that can serve not only rural Nepal but also marginalized communities in other developing countries — and even in underserved pockets of developed nations where care gaps persist.

What We Do

Global Healthcare Gap Research

We conduct field-based research in rural and underserved communities worldwide to study how healthcare systems fail to reach the people who need care most. Our work includes both developing and developed countries, recognizing that healthcare deserts exist everywhere.

Mobile & Field-Based Care Models

We develop and test mobile care models that deliver primary and preventive care directly to remote populations, using adaptable tools and community-based teams.

Community Health Worker Development

We identify and train local community health workers to become frontline providers, leveraging their deep cultural understanding while equipping them with essential skills and ongoing support.

Telemedicine & Remote Monitoring Solutions

We pilot telehealth platforms, remote diagnostics, and low-cost technologies to extend healthcare expertise into the most isolated communities, regardless of their national wealth.

Culturally Informed Health Education

We create educational programs that honor local languages, customs, and social structures to improve long-term prevention, maternal health, chronic disease management, and mental health care.

Our Vision

We envision a world where:

  • Distance is no longer a barrier to care.
  • Every mother can safely deliver her child, no matter how remote her village.
  • Every child receives timely treatment for preventable diseases.
  • Every elder, regardless of geography or income, receives dignified, ongoing care.

Whether in Nepal, rural Africa, indigenous North America, or urban health deserts in the developed world, we are committed to building systems of care that are flexible, sustainable, and rooted in the community itself.

Our Values

  • Equity — Health is a human right, not a privilege of wealth or geography.
  • Global Perspective — We learn across borders, applying lessons from both the poorest and wealthiest nations.
  • Partnership — We collaborate with communities, governments, health systems, and global institutions.
  • Sustainability — We prioritize lasting impact, not one-time interventions.
  • Respect — We listen first, honoring cultural wisdom and local voices.
  • Integrity — We operate with transparency, scientific rigor, and compassion.

Why Remote Healthcare?

In the 21st century, remote care is not an exception — it is the future. Climate change, displacement, aging populations, and technological advances are reshaping how healthcare must be delivered. By researching remote care models across vastly different environments, Malla Medical generates practical solutions that can be scaled globally.

The gaps may look different in rural Nepal compared to rural Appalachia or Australia’s Outback, but the principles remain: proximity should not determine survival.

Join Us

Malla Medical is not simply a medical organization — it is a movement for health equity without borders. We invite healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, donors, and global health advocates to partner with us.

Together, we are building a world where no community is too far, no life too small, and no population too forgotten.

Where the road ends, we begin.
